BAGUIO CITY, – - The result of the September 30 Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Board for Professional Teachers-administered Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) was released recently with 54 percent passing rate in PRC-Baguio.

Nationwide, 25,136 out of 50,997 examinees or 49.29 percent of LET examinees passed the LET for elementary teachers, while 20,834 out of 47,892 examinees or 43.50 percent passed the secondary teachers LET.

For the PRC-Baguio administered LET exam, Regional Director Teofilo Gaius Sison Jr. disclosed that 4,739 out of the 8,869 or about 54 percent of the examinees in their three testing areas – Baguio City, Laoag City, and Rosales Pangasinan passed.

In Baguio, 3,414 out of 6,301 or 54 percent of the examinees successfully passed the test. In Laoag City, 645 of 1,023 (63 percent) passed, while in Rosales – 680 of 1,545 (44 percent) examinees successfully hurdled the said exam.

Sison also disclosed that four examinees in their jurisdiction also landed in the top 10 of LET passers. For the LET elementary, Analyn Lorenzo Ramos of Adelphi College ranked number six with a rating of 87.2 percent, while Nonette Beluken Alsino of the University of Cordilleras ranked number 10 with 86.4 percent.

In the LET secondary level, Mia Magdalena Fokno Longid of Saint Louis University ranked number two with a rating of 88.2 percent, while Martes Daniel Dionisio Jr. of Benguet State University ranked number 10 with a rating of 87.2 percent.

Meantime, Sison also announced that successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals at the PRC-Baguio Regional Office at CCTL Bldg. Abanao Extension. Initial registration will open on December 4.

To enable passers save on travel time and expenses, Sison also disclosed that PRC-Baguio will accept initial registration at the CTEX Hall of MMSU Laoag City on December 4; Function Hall of Candon City, in Laoag on December 5; and Urdaneta City University Gym in Urdaneta Pangasinan on December 4.

Requirements for the initial registration are: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 2012 Community Tax Certificate; two passport size pictures and one 1”x1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag); photocopy of NSO birth certificate; one documentary stamp for the Oath Form; and initial registration fee of P600. The annual registration fee for PRC ID 2012-2015 is P450.

Oathtaking venue and date will be on December 7, 9 a.m. at Teatro Ilocandia, Mariano Marcos State University in Batac City for Laoag LET passers; December 8, 9 a.m. at the St. Bernard Hall, St. Louis University for Baguio City; and for Pangasinan passers will be on Dec. 9, 2 p.m. at the Robert B.
